Company Introduction Checklist: Month-End Close Workpapers
To successfully refer a company with month-end close workpapers, ensure they meet SourceX's baseline criteria, possess licensing rights, and have an authorized sponsor. This checklist helps confirm eligibility before introduction.
Financial advisors often have unique insights into companies generating valuable data, especially those maintaining robust month-end close workpapers. These records are often rich in structured financial and operational data that AI labs and data buyers are eager to license. By introducing such companies to SourceX, you can unlock a new revenue stream for them and earn a reward.
This checklist guides you through qualifying a company whose month-end close workpapers might represent a significant data asset for licensing.
Qualify the Company Profile
Ensure the company meets SourceX's core requirements. These criteria help identify suitable candidates that are ready for data licensing opportunities.
- US-Based: The company is headquartered and primarily operates in the United States.
- Established Operations: The company has years of operating records, demonstrating a history of consistent data generation.
- Significant Workforce: The company has had 50 or more full-time employees at its peak (contractors are excluded from this count).
Confirm Data Ownership and Rights
For any data to be licensed, the company must clearly own the data and have the legal authority to license it. Your role is to confirm their ability to license, not to handle the data itself.
- Right to License: The company possesses clear rights to license the data embedded within its month-end close workpapers or related financial/operational records.
- No Overlapping Commitments: Licensing the data would not conflict with existing agreements or privacy obligations (e.g., customer agreements, regulatory restrictions).
Identify an Authorized Sponsor
A key to a successful introduction is connecting SourceX with an empowered decision-maker within the referred company.
- Authorized Sponsor: You have identified an individual within the company who is authorized to discuss and initiate data licensing agreements.
- Relevant Role: This sponsor typically holds a senior position in finance, operations, or data strategy (e.g., CFO, VP of Finance, Head of Data).
Understand the Referral Process
Your introduction is valuable, and SourceX ensures proper attribution.
- First Valid Referrer: You understand that credit for the referral goes to the first valid referrer whose introduction leads to a verified company application within the attribution window.
- No Data Handling: As a partner, you are never asked to handle the company's proprietary data directly. Your role is solely to make the introduction.
By ensuring these points are covered, you can confidently introduce companies with valuable month-end close workpapers, opening doors for significant data licensing deals and potential rewards for you. SourceX manages the entire data licensing transaction process, from sourcing and rights review to delivery and payment, ensuring a seamless experience for the referred company.
Remember, you earn 25% of the eligible platform fees SourceX actually collects from the referred company's licensing deals, capped at $100,000 cumulative per referred company. The reward is a share of SourceX's fee and is never deducted from what the company receives.
