What does anonymized mean in AI data licensing?

Anonymization means removing or transforming personal identifiers so individuals cannot be identified. It is a required step before any company data is licensed through SourceX.

The definition

Anonymization transforms data so that no individual can be identified, directly or indirectly. Depending on the dataset, that can mean removing names and contact details, generalizing dates and locations, or restructuring records.

Why it is non-negotiable

  • Privacy law. Regulations like GDPR restrict how personal data can be used; anonymized data falls outside many of these rules.
  • Buyer requirements. AI buyers require documented anonymization before purchase.
  • Company protection. The licensing company must protect its customers and employees.

How SourceX handles it

Anonymization is built into the preparation step of every transaction — companies never hand over raw personal data.

What this means for partners

You can confidently tell companies their data is anonymized before any buyer sees it. Introduce a qualifying company — typically 50+ full-time employees at peak — and if a deal closes and SourceX collects its fee, you earn 25% of that fee, up to $100,000 per company.
