How companies get paid for licensing their data
A company licenses its data by having it assessed, anonymized and structured, then transacting with a buyer under defined terms — payment follows the buyer's purchase.
The path from data to payment
- Assessment. What data exists, in which systems, covering what period.
- Qualification. Whether the data matches what buyers currently seek.
- Preparation. Anonymization, structuring and documentation of rights.
- Transaction. A buyer selects and pays for the data under agreed terms.
- Payment. The company is paid; SourceX collects its fee from the transaction.
Reported deals show buyers paying from millions to hundreds of millions for licensed data (Reuters).
Where partners fit
Partners introduce qualifying companies — typically 50+ full-time employees at peak. If a deal closes and SourceX collects its fee, the partner earns 25% of that fee, up to $100,000 per company.
