Sales and CRM data for AI training
Sales and CRM data records how deals actually progress: accounts, opportunities, activities, emails, proposals and the final won or lost outcome. AI labs license it to train sales and revenue agents and to test predictions against what really happened.

Public datasets and licensed data
Most public CRM benchmarks run on companies generated by language models, and the main real dataset, Olist’s marketing funnel, is a one-year sample of 8,000 leads from one marketplace. Licensed CRM data adds years of real pipeline history with outcomes attached.
| Public dataset | Released | What it contains | Limits for enterprise use | License |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CRMArena | Salesforce AI Research, 2024 | 1,170 queries across nine customer-service tasks in a CRM environment. | The CRM data was generated by a language model; research-only license. | CC BY-NC 4.0 |
| CRMArena-Pro | Salesforce AI Research, 2025 | 4,280 queries over two generated companies with 29,101 and 54,569 CRM records. | Synthetic companies, generated by a language model. | See source |
| Marketing Funnel by Olist | Olist on Kaggle, 2018 | A real, anonymized sample of 8,000 qualified leads and the deals they closed (June 2017 to June 2018). | One year from one marketplace; non-commercial license. | CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 |
Preparation and rights
Preparation requirements are agreed with each supplier before any work begins. For this kind of data they typically include:
- Removing or pseudonymizing contact names, emails and phone numbers
- Excluding contact data bought from enrichment vendors where its license forbids passing it on
- Pseudonymizing customer account names and banding amounts
Every dataset has a documented owner and confirmed licensing rights, and is delivered only after an executed agreement and the supplier’s authorization. See data governance on sourcex.si.

Questions
Can CRM data be licensed for AI training?
Yes, when the company owns the records and personal and third-party data is handled properly. The company’s own activity history and outcomes are what’s licensed; purchased contact data usually isn’t.
Which CRMs does SourceX source from?
Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Pipedrive and similar systems, plus sales engagement tools such as Outreach and Salesloft.
