As a Microsoft ecosystem consultant, you understand the vast amount of valuable, licensing-ready data housed within enterprise systems. SourceX provides the enterprise data transaction layer for AI, managing data licensing from sourcing and rights review to delivery and payment. You can play a crucial role in connecting SourceX with US companies that could benefit from licensing their data.
To streamline the referral process and ensure complete privacy, we've developed a concept for a metadata-only Microsoft Teams inventory template. This template allows you to assess a company's data licensing potential by documenting what types of data exist and their timeframes, without ever exposing or requiring access to the actual content.
Why a Metadata-Only Approach?
- Privacy and Security: The most critical aspect is that partners never handle company data. This template respects that boundary by focusing solely on descriptive metadata.
- Efficiency: Quickly identify potential data assets for licensing without deep dives into content.
- Compliance: Helps companies assess their readiness to license data, focusing on rights and authorized sponsorship.
- Focus on Eligibility: Helps confirm if a company meets the baseline: US companies with 50+ full-time employees at peak, years of operating records, rights to license the data, and an authorized sponsor.
Metadata Teams Inventory Template
This template focuses on identifying the existence of data, its type, and its temporal scope. It is designed to be completed by the referred company, or in collaboration with them, ensuring no partner ever accesses proprietary information.
| Data Category | Record Type Examples | Relevant Date Ranges | Data Volume / Frequency Notes (Optional) |
|---|---|---|---|
| :------------------ | :------------------------------------------------- | :----------------------------------- | :--------------------------------------- |
| Chat Data | One-to-one chats, Group chats, Channel discussions | Start Date - End Date (e.g., 2018-Present) | E.g., "High volume in main channels" |
| Meeting Data | Meeting transcripts, Recorded meetings (audio/video), Meeting summaries | Start Date - End Date (e.g., 2019-Present) | E.g., "Weekly sales meetings recorded" |
| File Data | Shared documents, Presentations, Spreadsheets | Start Date - End Date (e.g., 2015-Present) | E.g., "Extensive project documentation" |
| App Data | Wiki pages, Planner tasks, Project management data | Start Date - End Date (e.g., 2020-Present) | E.g., "Active use of Wiki in all teams" |
| Activity Logs | User activity logs, System interaction data | Start Date - End Date (e.g., 2021-Present) | E.g., "All user activity logged" |
How to Use This Template
- Collaborate with the Company: Work with the company to identify which categories of Microsoft Teams data they might possess and have the rights to license.
- Focus on Metadata: Ensure the entries are descriptions of the data types and their date ranges, not actual data samples or sensitive information.
- Confirm Eligibility: Use this exercise to confirm the company has operating records spanning years and an authorized sponsor for potential data licensing.
- No Data Handling: Reiterate that SourceX, and you as a partner, manage the transaction of data licensing, not the handling of the data itself. SourceX does not train AI models; it manages data licensing transactions.
Your Opportunity as a SourceX Partner
By introducing US companies that fit the criteria to SourceX, you unlock a new revenue stream. Partners earn 25% of the eligible platform fees SourceX actually collects from the referred company's licensing deals. Rewards are capped at $100,000 cumulative per referred company. This reward is a share of SourceX's fee and is never deducted from what the company receives. Anyone can join, from any supported country, though licensed professionals should check their own rules on referral fees.
Rewards become payable only after the buyer pays and SourceX receives its fee. Credit goes to the first valid referrer whose introduction leads to a verified company application within the attribution window.
SourceX is headquartered in Los Angeles, California, and provides the essential layer for AI labs and data buyers to license the data they need. By using a metadata-only inventory, you empower companies to explore licensing opportunities securely and efficiently, without ever compromising their data integrity.
