Checklist: Referring Companies with Incident & On-Call Data

To successfully refer a company with incident and on-call records, ensure they meet the baseline criteria for size, operating history, data rights, and have an authorized sponsor. This checklist guides you through the key points for a smooth introduction.

As a reliability consultant, you're uniquely positioned to identify companies with valuable incident and on-call records. These datasets are crucial for AI labs and data buyers looking to understand complex system behaviors, improve operational resilience, and develop predictive maintenance models. SourceX specializes in managing the licensing of such enterprise data.

Our partner referral program allows you to earn rewards for connecting us with companies that can license their data. Use this checklist to prepare for a successful introduction.

Why Refer Incident & On-Call Data?

SourceX is the enterprise data transaction layer for AI, managing data licensing from sourcing and rights review to delivery and payment. Incident and on-call records provide rich, real-world insights into system failures, recovery processes, and human-in-the-loop operations. By facilitating the licensing of this data, you help companies monetize their operational history while contributing to advancements in AI.

Partners earn 25% of the eligible platform fees SourceX actually collects from the referred company's licensing deals, up to $100,000 cumulative per referred company. Rewards become payable only after the buyer pays and SourceX receives its fee.

Referral Checklist: Incident & On-Call Records

Before making an introduction, ensure the company meets our core criteria. This helps streamline the process and increases the likelihood of a successful referral.

  • US-Based Company: The company must be headquartered in the United States. (Source: F06)
  • Company Size (Employee Count): The company must have 50 or more full-time employees at its peak. (Source: F06)
  • Operating Records: The company should have years of operating records, demonstrating a mature history from which incident and on-call data can be derived. (Source: F06)
  • Rights to License: The company must possess the clear legal rights to license the incident and on-call data it holds. This includes ensuring no prior agreements or regulations prevent them from sharing. (Source: F06)
  • Authorized Sponsor: An authorized sponsor within the company must be willing and able to champion the data licensing process. This individual should have the authority to make decisions regarding data sharing and access. (Source: F06)
  • Data Scope (Incident & On-Call): Confirm the company has relevant and usable incident logs, trouble tickets, on-call rotation data, and related operational records. This data should ideally be structured or semi-structured and reflect actual production system events.
  • Attribution Window Awareness: Understand that credit for the referral goes to the first valid referrer whose introduction leads to a verified company application within the attribution window. (Source: F04)

Partner Considerations

  • Anyone Can Join: Remember that anyone can join our program from any supported country. If you are a licensed professional, you should check your own professional rules regarding referral fees. (Source: F05)
  • Reward Structure Clarity: The partner reward is a share of SourceX's fee and is never deducted from what the company receives. (Source: F07)

Illustrative Reward Scenario

Suppose a referred company successfully licenses its data through SourceX. If SourceX collects $100,000 in fees from their licensing deals, an illustrative partner reward would be 25% of that, or $25,000. This reward would contribute towards the $100,000 cumulative cap per company. This is a hypothetical example for illustrative purposes only.

By using this checklist, you can ensure your referrals are well-aligned with SourceX's requirements, increasing your potential for earning rewards and helping valuable data reach AI labs and data buyers.
