Who decides the data scope of a potential partnership?

The referred company, as the data owner, independently decides the scope of data it is willing to license. SourceX does not share any data without the company's explicit approval and agreement on commercial terms.

Who Decides the Data Scope of a Potential Partnership?

The referred company always maintains full control over the data scope of any potential licensing partnership with SourceX. The company decides what data it is willing to provide and on what terms. Nothing is shared without the company's explicit approval.

The Referred Company's Control

When you introduce an eligible business to SourceX, your role is to facilitate the initial connection. Once connected, the company engages directly with SourceX. Key aspects of the data licensing deal remain entirely with the referred business:

Decision to Proceed: The company decides whether to engage in a partnership at all. Scope of Data: The company determines the specific material and data scope it is willing to offer for licensing. Commercial Terms: The company agrees on all commercial terms related to the data licensing. Approval to Share: No data is shared with any buyer without the company's prior approval.

Your role as a referral partner is limited to making the introduction. You are never required to export, upload, or describe confidential records yourself. Learn more about the process.

SourceX's Role

SourceX facilitates the connection between data owners and AI buyers. Our responsibilities include:

Evaluation: Assessing the company's material for relevance to buyer programs. Permissions: Ensuring proper consent and agreements are in place. Contracting: Managing the legal and commercial agreements. Preparation and Delivery: Assisting with data preparation and secure delivery to buyers. Payment Collection:* Handling the financial aspects of the transaction.

Throughout this process, SourceX ensures that the data owner retains control over what is shared and under what conditions. We only manage the logistics according to each approved transaction, respecting the company's specific data scope and terms.

What SourceX Seeks

While the company decides the ultimate scope, SourceX works with businesses that typically possess certain types of data valuable to AI buyers. This often includes:

Original documentation: Such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), internal knowledge bases, project histories, or QA records. Rights to license: The company must own the material or have the clear right to license it without breaching confidentiality or third-party agreements.

Material that is usually not a fit includes personal consumer data, scraped data, or data the company does not control. For a preliminary check of a company's suitability, you can use the company fit checker.

No Obligation to Share

Even after an introduction, the referred company is under no obligation to license any data. They have complete autonomy to define the scope, negotiate terms, or decline to proceed if the opportunity does not align with their interests. Your reward eligibility depends on the company completing a qualifying licensing deal and SourceX receiving buyer payment, based on the scope they agree to provide.
