What is a referral program?

A referral program pays people for introductions that turn into business. In B2B, the reward is usually a share of revenue from the referred deal rather than a small fixed bonus.

The basic idea

A referral program rewards someone for introducing a new customer. The company gets a warm lead it would not have reached otherwise; the referrer gets paid when the introduction turns into real business.

Consumer vs business programs

Consumer programs offer small fixed rewards — a discount code or a gift card — because each referred customer is worth a modest amount. Business referral programs deal in larger transactions, so rewards are typically a percentage of the revenue the introduction produces.

How the SourceX program works

A partner introduces a company whose operational data may qualify for licensing to AI buyers. If that company completes a deal and SourceX collects its fee, the partner earns 25% of that fee, up to $100,000 per company. Nothing is earned or owed until a deal completes and the fee is collected.

What makes a program trustworthy

Written terms, a visible status for every referral, and a clear answer to when payment happens. Vague promises are the mark of a program to avoid.
