What is an AI data buyer?

AI data buyers are the organizations that purchase licensed data for model training and evaluation: AI labs, enterprise AI teams and data providers. SourceX transacts with them on behalf of companies.

Who they are

  • AI labs developing foundation models, signing the largest reported licensing deals.
  • Enterprise AI teams building domain-specific products.
  • Data providers aggregating supply for the market.

What they look for

Provenance, rights, quality, coverage and preparation — the criteria every SourceX transaction is structured against.

Why companies do not approach them directly

Buyers cannot evaluate thousands of individual companies, and companies cannot navigate buyer requirements alone. SourceX is the transaction layer between them.

What this means for partners

You never contact buyers. Introduce a qualifying company — typically 50+ full-time employees at peak — and SourceX handles the transaction. If a deal closes and SourceX collects its fee, you earn 25% of that fee, up to $100,000 per company.
