How to introduce a company to SourceX
The best referrals start with a short note to someone who can decide for the company, asking if they’d like an introduction. Then submit the referral on SourceX’s form with their contact details and a few specific lines about the data. Here’s what to say, what to include and what to leave out.
Before you reach out
- Check the company against the qualification criteria: 20 or more full-time employees, several years of documented operations, and records in business systems.
- Find the person who can decide: usually the CEO, COO, CTO or general counsel. For a company winding down, whoever now controls its assets.
- Know your own obligations. Licensed professionals and board members may need to disclose a referral fee.

What to put in the referral form
The form on sourcex.si/refer asks for your details, the company’s name, website and industry, a contact person, and why you think its data has value. That last field matters most. Be specific:

| They record calls. | In-house contact center, 120 seats, recorded calls with disclosure since 2020, weekly QA scoring. |
What not to send
- Data samples, exports or screenshots of internal systems
- Passwords, API keys or account access
- Internal documents, even if you have them
- Promises about price or timing
After you refer
From there, SourceX handles qualification and the conversation with the company. The company decides whether to go ahead and on what terms. If its deal closes, you can earn up to $100,000 in referral fees, paid after the buyer accepts the data and SourceX receives payment, under the referral terms in effect when you referred.
Questions
Should I copy SourceX on my first email to the company?
No. Ask the contact first. Once they agree, submit the referral with their details, and SourceX will take it from there.
What if I only know someone junior at the company?
Ask them who decides on data, contracts or partnerships, and get an introduction to that person. Referrals reach a decision faster when the contact can approve them.
