Which companies qualify for an AI data partnership?
SourceX looks for companies with 20 or more full-time employees, several years of documented operations and records in business systems such as helpdesks, code hosts or CRMs, along with the right to license that data. It reviews each company before anything moves forward.
The baseline
- Team size
- 20 or more full-time employees
- History
- Several years of documented operations
- Records
- Kept in business systems such as helpdesks, code hosts, CRMs, ERPs or shared drives
- Rights
- The company owns or controls the data and can license it under its contracts, policies and notices
Signals worth a referral
- A helpdesk with years of resolved tickets, ideally with tags, resolution codes or satisfaction scores
- An engineering team with years of code, pull requests and reviews in one place
- Recorded calls or chats, with recording notices in place
- Work tracked in structured systems with outcomes: approved or rejected, won or lost, resolved or escalated
- Specialized operations where public data is thin, such as claims, billing, dispatch, field service or compliance
- A company winding down whose systems are still active or were exported before shutdown

Red flags
- The data belongs to someone else, such as an outsourcer’s or agency’s clients, and they haven’t agreed.
- It’s mostly consumers’ personal data with no basis for licensing it.
- It’s mainly medical records, billing or claims data. That’s protected health information, and licensing it generally needs patient authorization or HIPAA-standard de-identification.
- The archives were deleted, or the tools were canceled without an export.
- A court, trustee or assignee controls the company’s assets and hasn’t been involved.
Not sure? Ask SourceX, or refer the company with a short description of what it holds.
Common questions
Does the company need its data ready before I refer it?
No. A description of what it holds is enough to start. Preparation requirements are agreed with the company later, before any work begins.
What if the company has fewer than 20 employees?
SourceX’s published requirement is 20 or more full-time employees. Ask SourceX before referring a smaller company.
Does a company have to stop using its data?
No. Licensing grants a buyer permission to use the data for agreed purposes. The company keeps ownership and keeps using its own data.
Know a company that fits?
Introduce the company to SourceX. If its data deal closes, you can earn up to $100,000 in referral fees, paid after the buyer accepts the data and SourceX receives payment.
