What to Look For in Your Google Drive Clients

During your Google Drive projects—whether it's a migration, a data governance audit, or a general storage optimization—you're often reviewing client data structures and operational history. This is the perfect time to identify potential referral candidates.

Key Indicators for Referral Opportunities:

  • Extensive Historical Data in Drive: Your client has years of operational records, documents, and data stored in Google Drive. This indicates a rich dataset that could be valuable for licensing.
  • US-Based Operations: SourceX primarily seeks US companies. Confirming your client's primary location is a quick first step.
  • Company Size: Look for companies that have had 50 or more full-time employees at their peak. This suggests a certain scale of operations and data generation. (Note: Contractors are not counted for this criterion).
  • Clear Data Rights: During governance discussions, listen for indications that the company understands and has the rights to license its proprietary data. This might come up when discussing data ownership, intellectual property, or compliance.
  • Authorized Sponsor: An authorized sponsor within the company needs to be identified – someone with the authority to explore data licensing.

Referral Spotlight: Example Scenarios

  1. Migration Projects: When migrating legacy data into Google Drive, you'll encounter historical archives. If these archives contain years of operational data from a US company with 50+ peak employees, it's a strong candidate.
  2. Data Governance & Compliance: Discussions around data retention policies, intellectual property rights, and data sharing within Drive can reveal if a company possesses valuable, licensable data and has the internal processes to manage its rights.
  3. Storage Optimization: Clients looking to manage vast amounts of data in Drive might unknowingly be sitting on a goldmine. Exploring what data they have and for how long can uncover opportunities.

How the Referral Program Works

Anyone from any supported country can join our referral program. If you're a licensed professional, remember to check your own rules regarding referral fees. The process is straightforward:

  • Introduction: Introduce an eligible US company to SourceX.
  • Verification: The company applies and is verified. Credit for the referral goes to the first valid referrer whose introduction leads to a verified company application within our attribution window.
  • Deal Formation: SourceX works with the referred company to facilitate data licensing deals with AI labs and data buyers.
  • Payout: Partners earn 25% of the eligible platform fees SourceX actually collects from the referred company's licensing deals. Rewards are capped at $100,000 cumulative per referred company. Rewards become payable only after the buyer pays and SourceX receives its fee. A lead, meeting, or signed agreement alone does not trigger payment.

Important Considerations:

  • No Data Handling: As a partner, you never handle any of the referred company's data. Your role is purely introductory.
  • Partner Rewards are Separate: The partner reward is a share of SourceX's fee and is never deducted from what the company receives from its data licensing deals.

By leveraging your deep understanding of client data within Google Drive, you can easily identify prime candidates for the SourceX referral program and unlock significant new revenue opportunities.
