Identify companies with original operational spreadsheet models
SourceX seeks referrals of companies with proprietary, well-documented operational spreadsheet models, as these can be highly valuable for AI buyer programs. These models often contain unique insights into a company's internal processes and decision-making, differentiating them from generic financial or public data.
Identify Companies with Valuable Operational Spreadsheet Models
SourceX partners look for businesses with proprietary operational data, including well-structured and documented spreadsheet models. These are often distinct from standard financial reports or publicly available data, offering unique insights valuable for AI buyer programs. Successfully referring a company with such assets can lead to substantial rewards.
What are Operational Spreadsheet Models?
Operational spreadsheet models are internal tools developed and used by businesses to manage, analyze, and forecast their day-to-day operations. Unlike simple data dumps, these models embed a company's specific logic, assumptions, and processes, reflecting how they solve problems and make decisions. They can range from complex forecasting tools to detailed resource allocation planners or sophisticated project management trackers.
Illustrative:
Scenario Planning Models: Spreadsheets used to simulate different market conditions, resource availability, or strategic decisions and their potential impact on outcomes. Logistics Optimization Models: Custom models detailing optimal routing, inventory management, or supply chain allocation based on proprietary data and internal constraints. Project Management Trackers: Detailed spreadsheets tracking task dependencies, resource assignments, budget allocations, and progress for internal projects, often with embedded calculations and decision logic. Customer Lifecycle Models: Spreadsheets mapping customer acquisition costs, churn rates, lifetime value, and marketing effectiveness based on internal data.
Why are these models valuable for AI buyers?
AI buyers often seek data that provides a nuanced understanding of real-world operational challenges and solutions. Operational spreadsheet models can offer:
Proprietary Logic: The formulas, connections, and assumptions within these models represent a company's intellectual property and specific approach to problem-solving. Contextual Richness: They are often linked to actual operational data, providing a deeper context than raw datasets alone. Decision-Making Insights: Analyzing these models can reveal how companies make operational decisions, allowing AI systems to learn and replicate effective strategies. Unique Data Structures: Custom structures and interdependencies within these models are hard to replicate and highly sought after for training advanced AI models.
Screening for eligibility
When identifying companies with valuable spreadsheet models, consider these characteristics, as outlined in our who qualifies guide:
Original Documentation: The models should be internally developed, reflecting the company's unique processes and intellectual property, rather than generic templates. Operating Maturity: Established companies (e.g., 20+ full-time employees, several years in operation) are more likely to have developed sophisticated and well-tested operational models. Rights to License: The company must own the material or have clear rights to license it without breaching confidentiality or third-party agreements. This is critical for any data licensing deal. Authorized Sponsor: The company needs an owner or executive who can approve discussions about their internal data assets and potentially license them.
Companies that typically are not a fit include those offering personal consumer data, scraped data, or material that belongs to their clients rather than the company itself. Furthermore, introductions made without the decision maker's knowledge are usually not eligible.
The referral process for data assets
Your role as a referral partner is to identify and introduce eligible companies. You do not need to evaluate, export, or describe the content of their spreadsheet models. The company, in discussions with SourceX, decides what data scope it is willing to provide and agrees to commercial terms. SourceX then manages the evaluation, permissions, contracting, preparation, delivery, and payment collection.
Learn more about the full how it works process and use our company fit checker to pre-screen potential referrals.
Rewards are calculated as 25% of SourceX's eligible collected platform fees, capped at $100,000 per referred company. A lead, meeting or signed agreement alone does not trigger payment. See the program terms.
