Making your first referral to SourceX can be a rewarding experience. This checklist is designed to help you prepare, ensuring the company you have in mind is a strong candidate for licensing their data through SourceX. It covers the essential criteria and clarifies the process, so you can make informed introductions.

SourceX is the enterprise data transaction layer for AI, managing data licensing from sourcing and rights review to delivery and payment. We're looking for specific types of companies to connect with AI labs and data buyers.

Referral Preparation Checklist

Use this template to prepare for your first referral. It covers key company baseline requirements and what you, as a partner, need to know.

1. Company Baseline Criteria

Before introducing a company, verify these essential points. This ensures they align with what SourceX looks for in a data licensing partner.

• US-Based Company: Is the company legally established and primarily operating in the United States?
• Employee Count: Does the company have 50 or more full-time employees at its peak operating period? (Note: This excludes contractors.)
• Operating Records: Does the company possess years of operating records that could be valuable for AI training and development?
• Data Ownership/Rights: Does the company own or have explicit rights to license the data in question? This is crucial for legal and ethical data transactions.
• Authorized Sponsor: Is there an identified individual within the company who is authorized to discuss and approve data licensing initiatives?

2. Understanding SourceX's Role and Your Reward

Clarify your role as a referrer and how rewards are structured. This helps manage expectations and ensures a clear understanding of the program.

• What SourceX Does: Remember, SourceX manages data licensing transactions from sourcing and rights review to delivery and payment. SourceX does not train AI models.
• What You Don't Handle: As a partner, you never handle any of the company's data. Your role is solely to make the introduction.
• Reward Mechanism: You earn 25% of the eligible platform fees SourceX actually collects from the referred company's licensing deals.
• Reward Cap: Rewards are capped at $100,000 cumulative per referred company.
• Payout Trigger: Rewards become payable only after the buyer pays and SourceX receives its fee. A lead, meeting, or signed agreement alone does not trigger payment.
• Attribution: Credit for the referral goes to the first valid referrer whose introduction leads to a verified company application within the attribution window.
• Reward vs. Company Proceeds: Your partner reward is a share of SourceX's fee and is never deducted from what the company receives for its data.

3. Professional Considerations

• Personal Rules Check: If you are a licensed professional, have you checked your own professional rules regarding referral fees and found no conflicts?
