Data licensing introductions during a founder retirement

Founder retirement can prompt a review of operating archives and decision-making authority. A founder’s personal access does not itself establish permission to license company records. The introduction needs a current authorized sponsor.

What to ask before an introduction

Ask who will remain responsible for company decisions after the transition and whether the business will retain access to its historical systems. Keep personal records separate from company-controlled material. If the business is sold or wound down, identify the current rights holder rather than assuming the founder retains authority. Do not make a potential data transaction a condition of the retirement plan.

Check the company baseline

This hub focuses on US companies with 50 or more full-time employees at peak headcount; contractors are excluded. Operating, acquired and wound-down companies can be considered. Every industry is open for assessment, with knowledge-work companies the strongest fit. Look for years of company-controlled records and an authorized sponsor willing to explore licensing. Company size or a system inventory does not establish approval, rights or buyer demand.

You introduce; the company controls its data

How potential rewards work

A qualifying partner reward is 25% of the eligible SourceX platform fee actually collected, capped at $100,000 per referred company. It is not a share of the full transaction value. Payment follows the buyer selecting and paying for the data and SourceX receiving its fee. An introduction or assessment does not itself create a payout. No earnings or transaction outcome is promised. Attribution and other eligibility conditions remain subject to the program terms.
