Partners often want to estimate the potential rewards from referring a company to SourceX. To help with this, we've designed a reusable worksheet template. This tool lets you consider the key factors that influence your potential earnings, always aligning with the official program facts and the ideal company profile. Remember, this worksheet is for estimation only and should never contain actual company data or personal details.
Why Use This Worksheet?
This template provides a structured way to think through the elements that lead to a successful referral and potential reward. It helps you assess how well a prospective company aligns with SourceX's criteria and the factors that drive referral earnings.
Worksheet Fields Explained
The following fields are designed to guide your estimation process. Each field directly relates to the SourceX referral program rules and the characteristics of an ideal referred company.
- Referral ID / Project Name: A unique identifier you create for your internal tracking (e.g., "Project Alpha"). No company names or identifying details.
- Referral Stage: Current status of your internal lead (e.g., "Initial Contact," "Introduced to SourceX," "Application Submitted").
- Company Baseline Check (Self-Assessment): Evaluate how well the prospective company fits SourceX's requirements.
- [ ] US company? (Yes/No)
- [ ] 50+ full-time employees at peak? (Yes/No)
- [ ] Years of operating records? (Yes/No)
- [ ] Rights to license data? (Yes/No)
- [ ] Authorized sponsor available? (Yes/No)
Rationale: Based on the requirement to "Introduce US companies with 50+ full-time employees at peak, years of operating records, rights to license the data and an authorized sponsor."
- Data Licensing Potential (Illustrative): An internal estimate of the potential value of data licensing deals.
- [ ] Estimated data licensing potential (e.g., Small, Medium, Large): This is your internal, speculative assessment of the scale of data transactions the company might engage in through SourceX. Do not use real deal values here.
*Rationale: Higher volume or value of licensing deals (hypothetically) can translate to higher fees for SourceX, directly impacting the referral reward which is "25% of the eligible platform fees SourceX actually collects."
- Estimated SourceX Fee Calculation (Illustrative): A hypothetical calculation based on the above potential.
- [ ] Hypothetical Total SourceX Platform Fees (e.g., "X units"): If SourceX were to earn fees from this company, what might the cumulative total be? This is purely illustrative and should not reflect any actual or negotiated figures. For example, if you consider a "Medium" potential, you might assign a hypothetical "100 units" for calculation purposes. This is not a financial projection.
- [ ] Estimated Partner Reward (before cap): Calculate `25%` of the "Hypothetical Total SourceX Platform Fees." Illustrative only.
- [ ] Estimated Partner Reward (after cap): Compare the "Estimated Partner Reward (before cap)" to the reward cap of `$100,000` cumulative per referred company. The lower of the two values is your capped estimate. Illustrative only.
Rationale: "Partners earn 25% of the eligible platform fees SourceX actually collects from the referred company's licensing deals." and "Rewards are capped at $100,000 cumulative per referred company."
- Notes / Follow-up: Any internal notes or actions related to this potential referral.
Important Considerations
- No Sensitive Information: This worksheet is strictly for internal estimation. Never include company names, contact details, financial specifics, or personal data. Your privacy and the privacy of potential referrals are paramount.
- Rewards Are Conditional: Remember, "Rewards become payable only after the buyer pays and SourceX receives its fee. A lead, meeting or signed agreement alone does not trigger payment."
- Attribution Rules: "Credit goes to the first valid referrer whose introduction leads to a verified company application within the attribution window."
- SourceX's Role: SourceX manages data licensing from sourcing and rights review to delivery and payment. It does not train AI models and the partner reward is a share of SourceX's fee, never deducted from what the company receives.
By using this structured approach, you can systematically evaluate potential referrals and understand the factors that drive your earning potential within the SourceX referral program.
