Operations consultants often hold a unique position, understanding a company's data landscape without necessarily needing to interact with the raw data itself. This insight is invaluable for identifying potential data licensing opportunities, especially for platforms like SourceX.

To help streamline this process, we've developed a conceptual metadata-only Notion inventory template. This tool allows partners to track relevant data types and date ranges within a prospective company, all without ever accessing or handling sensitive information. This aligns perfectly with the SourceX partner program's strict adherence to data privacy.

Why a Metadata-Only Inventory?

SourceX facilitates data licensing for AI, managing the transaction layer from sourcing to payment. For a successful referral, identifying companies with valuable, licensable datasets is key. However, as a partner, you never handle company data at any point in the referral process. Your role is to connect companies with SourceX, not to delve into their datasets.

Our program emphasizes that the partner reward is a share of SourceX's fee and is never deducted from what the company receives (F07). Your focus remains on making a valuable introduction.

This metadata inventory template is designed for you, the operations consultant, to organize your understanding of a company's data assets in a structured way. It allows you to:

  • Identify potential data sources: Pinpoint departments or systems likely to hold significant data.
  • Understand data types: Note down the categories of data (e.g., transactional, sensor, demographic).
  • Assess data richness: Record date ranges and potential volume without seeing actual records.
  • Maintain confidentiality: Ensure no actual data is stored or processed by you.

The Notion Metadata Inventory Template

This template focuses on broad categories and attributes, not specific data points. Imagine a database in Notion with entries for each potential data category within a company.

How to Use This Template

  1. Duplicate the Template: Copy this structure into your Notion workspace.
  2. Company Entry: Create a new Notion page for each prospective company you're evaluating.
  3. Populate Metadata: For each company, fill out the table with high-level descriptions of the data types you believe they possess. Focus on what kind of data exists and its general characteristics, such as the period it covers.
  4. No Actual Data: Crucially, do not include any actual company data, specific records, or personally identifiable information in this template. It's purely for categorizing the types of data.
  5. Qualify Leads: Use this inventory to identify US companies with 50+ full-time employees at peak, years of operating records, rights to license the data, and an authorized sponsor (F06).

Earning Rewards with SourceX

Once you identify a promising company using your metadata inventory, your next step is to introduce them to SourceX. As a partner, you earn 25% of the eligible platform fees SourceX actually collects from the referred company's licensing deals (F01). Rewards are capped at $100,000 cumulative per referred company (F02).

Remember, rewards become payable only after the buyer pays and SourceX receives its fee. A lead, meeting, or signed agreement alone does not trigger payment (F03).

Credit goes to the first valid referrer whose introduction leads to a verified company application within the attribution window (F04). Anyone can join from any supported country, though licensed professionals should check their own rules on referral fees (F05).

SourceX is the enterprise data transaction layer for AI, managing data licensing from sourcing and rights review to delivery and payment (F09). We do not train AI models (F10). Your role as a referrer is critical in expanding the ecosystem of licensable data for AI labs and data buyers.
